All companies are obliged to make contributions to the Social Security Fund.  In correctly managing accounting and staff records, and in having correctly formulated documentation, a company can get back up to 1,440 roubles for each day of sick-leave.

A company with a workforce of 350 people once independently managed to get money reimbursed from the Social Security Fund for the period 2011-2014.  In 2014, the Social Security Fund carried out an inspection on the set of documents used in the reimbursement for the given period, which turned out to be incomplete, with some documents being incorrectly formulated and some missing.  The Social Security Fund demanded a full return of the money reimbursed and imposed fines on the company.  The losses to the company exceeded 5,000,000 roubles.  The company’s internal accountants did not possess the required competence and care for the documentation collection process for Social Security Fund reimbursement.   Since 2014, this company has passed this business process to BLS outsourcing and the 2015 inspection passed without reprimand.
