DISCIPLINARY RESPONSIBILITY: HOW DECREASE EMPLOYER RISKS TO THE MINIMUM Legal company BLS finalized summer season of business breakfasts for HR directors. On the 23th of August a seminar “Disciplinary responsibility: how to decrease employer risks to the minimum” took place. The declared topic appeared to be really important and valid for HR specialists. About 40 people became participants of the event – this was one of the largest business breakfasts of BLS. Besides, the meeting went practically in the mode of a dialogue: on every item the guests asked their questions, described their own cases and situations.

ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION ON YOUR HR CASES: ASK A QUESTON TO AN EXPERT! A regular business breakfast of BLS took place on the 26th of July and it passed in an unusual format for us: the event was dedicated to discussion of cases, sent to us by our participants. For many years we have been conducting business breakfasts for HR practically every months. Some topics repeat from one year to another and they do not lose their importance (for example, measures, dedicated to SLI inspections or conflict terminations), other – to periodically emerging topics (professional standards, personal data in HR work and other novelties of labor and neighboring areas of legislation, included into practice).

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE READY FOR SLI INSPECTION? BLS company conducted first business breakfast during the summer season. Importance of this topic allowed, notwithstanding the beginning of the vacation season, to gather about 25 HR directors of foreign companies, operating in Russia. “How would you know that you are ready for SLI (State labor inspection) inspection”? This is the question, which every HR asks him / herself, and the answer is not always available. During the business breakfast BLS Managing Partner Elena Kozhemyakina helped to estimate risks and to find correct solutions.

GOING ON LEAVE ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE! HOW TO AVOID LEAVE DAYS PILE UP Following May holidays a season of leaves is coming. Many of you already decided in the beginning of the year, where they pass their summer rest, still, pleasant thoughts on the leave for some of HR are clouded by the reminder on the problem of accumulated (not used) leaves of the employees. Some workaholics manage to pile up days of leave for several years! And not for anything do they agree to leave their work place. Working enthusiasm is a good thing, but… Any extremity has its own serious “but”.

NEGOTIATIONS ON CONFLICT TERMINATIONS. ELENA KOZHEMYAKINA’S METHODOLOGY In November 2016 we conducted a business breakfast dedicated to a unique methodology of Elena Kozhemyakina. The business breakfast was conducted with full house. This spring we decided to return to the topic of conflict terminations, and, in continuation of the topic, raised on the 19th of April (tendencies in court practice on terminations), we conducted a business breakfast on how to plan negotiations on termination correctly: so that, both the company interests were observed and the employee would not apply to court.

REVIEW OF COURT PRACTICE ON TERMINATIONS: HOW TENDENCIES HAVE CHANGED We all know, that, no matter how HR managers try, it is not always possible for the employee and the company to part without mutual claims. When negotiations come to a dead lock, unsatisfied former employees apply to court. To our regret, it is not possible to forecast emergence of such an incident, and to prepare properly, so the topic of conducting conflict terminations is always of interest.

WE CAN’T POSTPONE THINGS: WHAT HR SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IN 2017 On the 25th of January, in Novotel the first in the started year, business breakfast of BLS legal company took place: “What HR should take care of in 2017”. The business breakfast was conducted by BLS Managing partner Elena Kozhemyakina, while the guests were HR managers of the well known foreign and Russian companies (Zeppelin, Galderma, CNH Industrial, Mazda, Ritter Sport among them).
